Terms of Use
Last updated: October 14, 2026
By creating an account on twnhouse.ca you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
1. What twnhouse is
twnhouse is an online matching service that introduces renters and landlords in Ontario. We are not a landlord, real estate brokerage, property manager or screening agency, and we are not a party to any lease or agreement between users. Any decision to rent, and any lease, is solely between the tenant and the landlord.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18 and give accurate, current information.
- Keep your password private. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- One account per person. Landlords may list only properties they own or are authorized to rent.
3. Fair and lawful use
- You must follow the Ontario Residential Tenancies Act and the Human Rights Code. Landlords may not refuse, discourage or prefer tenants based on race, ancestry, place of origin, colour, ethnic origin, citizenship, creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, marital status, family status, disability, or receipt of public assistance.
- No fake listings, scams, requests for deposits before a viewing and signed lease, harassment, spam, or misuse of other users' contact details.
- Only use contact details you receive through twnhouse to discuss the rental you connected about.
4. ID checks and "verified" badges
An "ID verified" badge means our team looked at a government photo ID that matched the account name. It is not a background, credit or reference check, and it does not guarantee anyone's identity, honesty or ability to pay. Always do your own checks before signing a lease or handing over money.
5. Landlord Pro
Paid plans are billed through Stripe on a recurring basis until cancelled. You can cancel any time from your dashboard; your plan stays active until the end of the paid period. Fees are not refundable except where required by law. We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice.
6. Content you post
You keep ownership of your photos and descriptions, and you give twnhouse permission to display them on the service. Don't post anything you don't have the right to share. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these terms.
7. Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided "as is". Match scores and explanations are automated suggestions only. To the extent the law allows, twnhouse is not liable for any loss arising from dealings between users, from information users provide, or from interruptions to the service. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Ontario consumer protection law.
8. Ending your account
You can close your account at any time by emailing hello@twnhouse.ca. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put other users at risk.
9. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms; we'll post the new date above and notify you of important changes. These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
